Rane Johnson-Stempson is the CEE Regional Leader responsible for developing and supporting the mission in helping all IT Professional and IT Managers in CEE to reach their full potential. She works with 27 countries to ensure we are meeting the needs of IT Professionals in their personal interests, skills and careers. She is responsible for IT Professional Audience Marketing, Security and Privacy needs in CEE.
After 6 years at Microsoft, Rane has held a variety of positions. She started as an Public Sector Global Account Manager, Server and Tools Core Infrastructure Field Liaison, and Core Infrastructure Product Manager.
Rane is very passionate about education and technology with fifteen years of experience. She has served as the Executive Director of California Skills USA-VICA, IT Project Manager for Guidant Corporation, Middle School Math and Science Teacher and IT Director for the San Francisco Unified School District. Rane is a graduate of Bucknell University with a BS Mechanical Engineering, BA Economics/Finance, Executive MBA at George Fox University. Title: Universal calculations in MDX
Description:
Among many of its functions, MDX language has one special set function - Axis() function. That function allows creation of calculated measures that are fully context aware and, if wanted, don't need to refer to any dimension or hierarchy in the cube. In other words, such measures are universal or independent, which means they can be used in any MDX query.
In this session we will present such measures and explain how they work. We'll also show the way how to design them for various scenarios and discuss their potentials and weaknesses.
Previous experience in writing MDX queries is recommended.

Rođen je u Makarskoj 1976. godine, gdje završava osnovnu i srednju školu, a maturira u Americi. Diplomirao je 2002. godine na Ekonomskom fakultetu u Zagrebu, smjer poslovna informatika. Zaposlen je u Algebri već pet godina na radnom mjestu administratora sustava i predavača (MOC i IBM ACE). Edukaciju nastavlja polaganjem Microsoftovih ispita te trenutačno posjeduje MSS, MCDST, MCSA+S, MCSE+S. MCTS, MCITP i MCT certifikate. Sudjelovao je na konferencijama WinDays 2004, 2005, 2006 i 2007 kao predavač (na predkonferencijskom danu i u sklopu glavnog sadržaja konferencije), a autor je i tekstova za WinDays Mrežu. Na WinDays konferenciji 2007. godine imao je najbolje predavanje po glasovima polaznika. Svoje daljnje usavršavanje usmjerava na sigurnost mrežnih sustava, održavanje i implementaciju SharePointa te na dizajniranje, implementaciju i održavanje Active Directorya. U zadnje vrijeme više se posvećuje obitelji proizvoda System Center.

Ilija Brajković je student studija računarstva u Fakultetu elektrotehnike, strojarstva i brodogradnje u Splitu. Dugogodišnje iskustvo u izradi web stranica ne koristi više nigdje jer je svoje profesionalne interese našao u računalnim mrežama, njihovoj sigurnosti te scenarijima primjene virtualizacije. Radi kao Microsoft Student Partners Lead na FESB-u, što mu je omogućilo jako puno informacija i mogućnosti unutar Microsofta, što on obilato koristi. Uz nekoliko honorarnih poslova, jedva nađe nešto vremena za proučavanje novih tehnologija, ali to što prouči i nauči rado podijeli na predavanjima koja redovno održava na raznim studentskim događanjima koje organizira kao Microsoft Student Partner, te na svom blogu http://www.brajkovic.info .

Born in 1979. Although he started professional life as C/C++ programmer .NET platform enchanted him so both C# and VB are enjoyed now. Side job included teaching programming first to kids and then to adults. Currently works as Senior Developer for Siemens and as such he is active member of Croatian Microsoft community with few lectures under his belt (Windays, Mobility days...). Likes playing with electronics as a hobby and really enjoys good food.
